Fine scale models
1:8 Scale
Super detailed

JRH Scale Cars
About
JRH Scale Cars is a series of photographs and construction notes of super-detailed 1:8 scale model cars.

Wherever possible construction is based on drawings, photographs and measurements of the full-size prototypes. From the beginning the goal has been to build historically accurate, highly detailed replicas of the original vehicles. A significant amount of scratch building is involved.

My goal is also to provide photos, sketches, drawings and sources of information used in building the models which will be useful and inspiring. It's a complement to the several fine sites that already provide information on building such models.

The 1930s Rolls-Royces and the
Ferrari F40s are based on the
Pocher 1:8 scale kits which, sadly,
went out of production in 2003.
For production and commercial
reasons, compromises were made
in the manufacturing of the kits that
creates the opportunity to fix production
quality issues, correct errors and, more importantly, add detail.

The 1936 Traction Avant is based on a Heller 1:8 scale kit of a 1952 version.

The 1:8 scale 1935 Austin Seven is scratch built.

Enjoy!
